Hey there everyone! If anyone wants to join me, throughout March I will be posting here and on discord. Each day in March I will post a song from a game according to the theme for that day, I will be doing following the hard mode guidelines, and posting small explanation as to why I made the choice. Anyone is welcome to join and post here as well. Have fun!

It's technically March today, so here's my Day 1! (I figure it's better just to link the song instead of embedding it because if everybody embeds videos it's gonna make the thread load slowly.) Day 1 Title Screen Music Fall Guys - Everybody Falls www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys4rkcMbtjY

Day 1: Title Music
In a game as off the wall as Katamari Damacy, the attract screen blasts you with the off the wall theme song and insane intro movie. However, after that you are brought to the Title screen, an all white screen with just the option to roll up the save file you want to load. Now the big band has been replaced by a cappella humming. In a way, it’s almost like you’re in an elevator after a big concert. The earworm of a title song sticking with you and the anticipation growing of what this game is going to throw at you.

Day 1 - Opening Theme: Neverwinter Nights Main Theme
Starting out strong with the game that I think has defined me as a person more than any piece of media. This track plays through the main menu and character creation of the game. The low cello matched with the high strings create a fantasy melody that catches on and grabs you, sucking you into the world of Faerun and Neverwinter. I can go on for hours on how much this game and its soundtrack mean to me, but I think I should just keep it at this. Without NeverwinterNights I don't think I'd be as much of a storyteller and a lover of fantasy as I am today, and I owe this game a lot.

It was a difficult choice but I managed to narrow my choice down to.

I think it was the first game that i would go back to the intro to rewatch multiple times. That Whistle is dang good!

I'm going with Baldur's Gate 2 for this. A buddy lent this game to me back in high school and I was enthralled by it. I had a hell of a time making it out of the first dungeon, but picking my way through the mad wizard's lab step-by-step and being introduced to the characters left a mark on me.
...And since I kept rerolling in the hopes of getting some kind of edge in the battles, I heard a lot of this theme. It starts off bombastic to amp you up if you're loading a save, but it continues to play over character creation. The timing on the quieter tone(at 50 seconds in) means that it usually starts as you're picking your class. This song makes an interesting contrast with the Neverwinter Nights theme above. They're two RPGs of the same era, but with very different tones on the title.

Day 2: Opening Level Music
Star Fox: Corneria
A song that's more memorable than the entirety of the game. Star Fox isn't bad, it just never really stuck on me. On the SNES it's a rail shooter, with a frame rate just above power point presentation, but it was to me as candy corn was to Lewis Black. I'd fire it up, get two or three stages in before either detonating in Sector Y or just losing interest. This lead to a good deal of time seeing the start up sequence and then the theme for Corneria.
The guitars make it seem something out of the Megaman X series, but it has a rhythm that is more fitting of the on rails action of Star Fox. If the engine wasn't going to give you any speed, at least the music will keep you from falling asleep.
