Update 1: Hey there everyone! Now that there's a character, we're into the story in earnest. You will be uncovering lore and building up an inventory over the course of this adventure. To keep everything nice and orderly, there will be a special thread just for keeping all of that in order

You find yourself coming out of a dream, the memories of which are quickly receding into your subconscious.
A dull ache radiates around your entire body.
Looking around, you find yourself in a full body cast. Your surroundings are a sterile, clean room.
A bespectacled creature with a face like an iguana turns around, looks at you, makes a few notes on a clipboard, does a double take, and then jumps back, startled.
"Oh! Oh my. This was quite unexpected. Please, uh, bear with me a moment."
They start searching for something
"Not that you have a choice in the matter I suppose."After rifling through a cabinet in the corner of the room, the creature eventually withdraws a binder.
"There we go! I'm not sure how much you remember, so I'll do my best to explain. My name is Dr. Brightpearl, I've been directing your care for the last year."
"You were in a bit of an incident, and we were fortunate to stabilize you."
"Now that you're back with us, we can assess how deep the effects are."
They heft up the binder and open it
"First, let's see who's in there."
"Please look at and nod when you see what you identify as"
Page 1: A simple bipedal silhouette
"The humans, an odd race that came from the stars. Brought some pretty nifty tech with them and mostly keep to themselves.Page 2: A trio of silhouettes. One with a rounded tail, one seems to have a beak of some sort, and the other seems to be double the size of the other two.
"The beastfolk, they are allies with a savage streak. The three different silhouettes show that they are fairly...varied. If you do identify as them, I have some further material to help identify your clan"Page 3: A silhouette with a pointed looking tail and sharp features.
"The noble Ricodan, though I will admit my bias. We are the proud draconic denizens of this world."Page 4: A silhouette with wings and wiry limbs
"The Mijat, insects that live beneath the great boughs of Yggdrasil. Luddites and warmongers, but they seem to be finally receptive to developing culture."Page 5: A tall silhouette with a narrow head and four arms
"That's the uhhhhhh...Ilkra. I don't know why you would be identifying as one of them... but these are some rather complicated circumstances. They are an ancient race that we don't know terribly much about."You suspect your host has a bias towards the figures in the binder, but you wrack your thoughts to see what you can remember about any of them.
