Oh hey, I actually have been making comics since late 2019, finally achieving something.

I didn't realise that the forum would blow up these images to fuck huge size, so I decided to explain here briefly what the context is. So the author of Kill Six Billion Demons made an OC tournament loosely based on the tournament arc happening in the comic still, right now. The Ring of Power. 64 dudes were chosen from hundreds of applicants. Someone got the bright idea to make an unofficial offshoot OCT server called the Ring of Worms, which is like the losers bracket. So I joined there submitting the very shitposty green demon Gwennon but I was matched up against....
OF ALL THE FUCKING PEOPLE. THE LITERAL BABA IS YOU DEV. HEMPULI. There was so much anxiety put into these 10 pages and even though they're bad it's a proud stepping stone for me. I might post more older comics tomorrow.

Haha yeah. Sadly Hempuli had to default in order to release Noita into early access. (Yes this actually happened. Sometimes I'm tempted to buy the game just to do a mischievous flex in my steam review and go "I won by default to the gamedev of this so they could prioritise the release of the game, now I feel the hollow anguish of a pyrrhic victory and robbed accomplishment, you're welcome". I feel less of that feeling now but it did slightly sting tbh). This was round 2, it was more lethargic for me and it shows. I feel so much 2nd hand embarassment looking at these in contrast to the 1st comic but it's not completely irredeemable just lukewarm. My opponent liked it and the judge also liked the subverted punchline at the end and the fact that Gwennon is the biggest joke in both his stories. But losing made me realise I not only could have taken things more seriously but I also robbed myself of doing things I wanted by sticking to Gwennon being a practical joker. Also before I forget the context, the stupid gimmick for round 2 was that you had to break a teacup belonging to your opponent. That gave me more incentive to have the battle be won by guile instead of fighty action.

The only other major tournament in the server was Turf War. It had 3 rival factions which were a technology/magitech cult, a city faction of mostly organised criminals and crooked businessmen and a mad max esque faction called the Badlanders. The gimmick was that if you lost in one of the 3 rounds you could make a new character from scratch. There's almost like 0 point in retrospect to have made the scanning choices I did, since everything looks so hideous now that the forum baloons the size of these pages. wtf. But uh. Garry was a death seeking young man but then I decided maybe he'll have some positive character growth at the end. It also made for a good punchline. But then I lost and he died anyways, lmao. Voybes I invested more effort into design and character wise. To the point where I can see myself using him in other projects. For the sake of the tournament event he was the token villain member of the Badlanders, who despite being desert raiders who plunder and steal and kill, still ended up being more heroic. So in comes Voybes to shit things up by enjoying killing for the sake of it and being a fantasy bigot who hates on half-demons and stuff.
