You are DECADE WILSON, powerful wizard of the FUGIT EMPIRE. Today your home will burn. A legion of powerful pyromancers are marching towards the castle. Smoke swirls from their footsteps. Grass and rock catch fire alike. Heat mirages flicker in the distance.
Here's what you know of the enemy. They seem hell-bent on dying for a cause. Something about their spells touches on one of the grand laws of magic - the Rule of Atrophy. Their power grows with its impermanence. The flame that burns half as long burns twice as bright.
Outside your mage tower is an encroaching sea of flames, but all is not lost. You see, with your mastery of time, you have entrenched the army in a stasis the likes of which the world has never seen. They will be frozen for a decade.
You paid the price of your remaining lifespan. You have 10 hours left. You're acutely aware that there is nothing you can do to avoid death.
How should you spend the end of your life?

+ Inform your students. The disciples look up to you immensely, and they deserve to know. You might also want to give them a parting gift of some sort, if you have one.
+ Inform your emperor. Your country has been a pivotal part of your life, and more importantly, your death. You don't want your sacrifice to go unknown.
+ Inform your old colleague. To be honest, you're afraid to talk to him. You didn't part on good terms. But it's better now than never.
+ Try and complete your life's work. You've been working on a microstasis spell that does not cost lifespan. You will likely not finish it within one action. However, the mass stasis you cast gave you an epiphany of sorts, should you have the time to apply it.
+ Meditate. Follow the epiphany and let it soak you. May help with your life's work.
+ Have a grand last meal. Treat yourself to something big before you go. This will end your story, and cannot be selected until the fourth hour.
+ Set up your last will. Who will you leave your possessions to among your friends, family, and acquaintances? You should probably decide this one after you've talked to everyone.
+ Grieve. Processing what's happening is important. Putting this off can have consequences.
