STOLEN PARADISE
THE HEIST AT THE VELVET PARADISE CASINO
[Queue intro song: 80s REMIX - TOXIC]
WIDE SHOT. Slow pan over an OLD WAREHOUSE. Dim lights glow inside. City skyline glitters in the background.
CUT TO INTERIOR. FOUR FIGURES, silhouetted against industrial floor lamps. They surround several tables with briefcases, boxes, and floorplan blueprints. They speak to one another, but the audio is silent (so as not to clash with intro music).
WIDE SHOT, but steadily ZOOM on first figure. The DASHING ROGUE, as played by KINFE VAN KOUWEN. They are a young Conean punk, typically abrasive in personality but able to put on the charm when need be. Their androgynous body and knack for theatrics makes them the perfect MASTER OF DISGUISE.
Pan to next figure, who is typing away on a laptop. The JAILBREAKER HACKER, as played by CORIANDER KICKINGER. Quiet voice, loud outfit. Another Conean, who has dedicated themselves to the art of codes and computer cracking. She's not the most talkative person, but she prefers talking through messageboards anyways. Her specialty is BENDING ELECTRONICS TO HER WILL.
Continue pan. Third figure, who is silently listening to the plan. An older human, dressed like a Victorian woman from Earth. It's THE BLOODY MARY, as played by CARMEN (last name unknown). Long dyed black hair, a sullen face, and hands that are consistently and uncomfortably clammy. Her habit of sneaking up on people without them realizing -- and her deathly appearance -- has turned her into THE GHOST.
Continue pan, slowing to a stop on the last figure. They are pointing to the floorplan laid out on the table, explaining the situation. The final member of the team: THE INSIDE JOB, as played by FELICITY ROBINSON. Despite her appearances, she is UNIONIZED and HATES HER MANAGER. Her knowledge of the casino and her grudge against her employer means she is an asset to the team. She even has various other low-level employees on her side, all hoping to see the casino burn to the ground. Or... just go bankrupt.
Smash cut. The team is opening the briefcases and crates, checking on their gear. The Heist will not be for another two weeks, but they must ensure everything is ready.
"Knight" -- The Dashing Rogue
Conean
Outfit: Street Punk. Probably won't blend in, but it's comfortable as hell.
Disguise 1: Janitor. Allows entry into employees-only areas where security clearance is not needed.
Disguise 2: A beautiful evening gown that is ALLURING. It still has enough pockets on the inside to hide their weapons.
Melee Weapon: Balisong knife. COMPACT and easy to hide, but will alert metal detectors.
Ranged Weapon: XSIS-9P Valor. A compact 9mm handgun, fitted with a suppressor. It is SUPPRESSED, but not completely SILENT.
Utility Item 1: Hardlight Multitool. Projects a static hardlight image to manipulate objects -- hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. Not suspicious to carry.
Utility Item 2: Fake ID Cards. Always good to have backup identities.
"BruteForce" -- The Jailbreaking Hacker
Conean
Outfit: Gameraver. Very noticeable, but looks super cool.
Disguise 1: Generic fancy outfit. Blends in with the high-end crowd, but otherwise has no bonuses or penalties.
Melee Weapon: Switchblade. COMPACT and easy to hide, but will alert metal detectors.
Ranged Weapon: MATCH Pistol, with EMP rounds. It does little damage to organic targets but wreaks havoc on electronics. It is SUPPRESSED, but not completely SILENT.
Utility Item 1: Laptop with hacking gear. Normally not suspicious. However, it must be DEPLOYED in order to use it. When deployed, it is SUSPICIOUS to anyone who spots it.
Utility Item 2: Jailbreak kit. Packed into a box that is normally not suspicious. It must be DEPLOYED with the laptop in order to Jailbreak security systems. When deployed, the Laptop will now ALERT people rather than make them SUSPICIOUS.
"Drifter" -- The Bloody Mary Ghost
Human
Outfit/Disguise: Gothic Victorian Dress. Blends in with high society.
Melee Weapon: Ceramic Knife. COMPACT and easy to hide, and will not set off metal detectors.
Ranged Weapon: Ceramic Throwing Knives. COMPACT and easy to hide, and will not set off metal detectors.
Utility Item: Simple Lockpick set. Not as effective as the Burglar's set, but will allow entry past LOW-TECH LOCKS. Made of hardened polymer plastics, so as to not set off metal detectors.
"Karen" -- The Unionized Inside Job
Human
Outfit: Chic. Probably not as fancy as what regular casino-goers wear, but it should blend in fine.
Disguise: Casino Uniform. Black pressed slacks, white collared shirt, red vest, and tasteful jewelry. Allows entry into any employees-only areas with no or low security clearance.
Melee Weapon: Garrote. Made of flexible plastic wire. COMPACT and easy to hide, and will not set off metal detectors.
This adventure will now go on a short Hiatus as I prepare more of the behind-the-scenes stuff. In the meantime, feel free to ask questions about anything.
